Interest accrues and credited daily. North calculates interest on your eligible end-of-day balance each business day and credits accumulated interest to your account once a month.
How it works
Your eligible cash stays exactly where it is: recorded as a free credit balance in your North brokerage account. North holds the underlying cash in an omnibus deposit account at Bank of Montreal (BMO) and earns interest on it. North then pays you a portion of that interest directly into your account. There's no separate account to open, no funds to move, and nothing to enroll in. If your account is eligible, it generally works automatically.
